Extreme Apple Bobbing

Sal - head in bucket! Sal - wet

Some 'odd things' happen here at the Minster Inn. This years 'apple bobbing' turned somewhat 'extreme' with an attempt at pear bobbing - it should be noted that whilst apples float pears sink - adding a new challenge to the sport. 'Click here for some more must see pictures of this event and some fantastic examples of pumpkin carving!'.

A 'dog friendly' pub

Well behaved dogs (and their owners) are always welcome.

How to find us?

It is perhaps one of York's best kept secrets, but the Minster Inn can be easily found tucked half way down Marygate (number 24) - just behind the 'Yorkshire Museum' and Museum Gardens. It is about 10 mins walk from the station and less than 5 mins walk from Bootham Bar and the 'other York Minster' - (the big Church). If you get lost give us a call (tel: 01904 624499) and we will be more than happy to give directions.

Real Ale

Camra Splash

Real Ale is beer that served as a 'live' product. This means that it is always fresh and delicious tasting. The Minster serves a variety of beers and ales constantly changing through the year. Dave's cellar has been awarded the 'Cask Marque' award as a tribute to its quality. The Minster Inn is also nationally recognised in being selected for Camra's 'Good Beer Guide'.

The Minster Inn is a community pub and plays host to a number of community groups. Rooms are available for free private bookings. The Minster Inn Chess club play their home matches here. The York Postal Harriers, running club (always welcoming to new members - no Postal association necessary) have their Wednesday evening training sessions from the pub. The staff and customers are supportive of a number of charities, both local and international - a special mention to MOSES. - Malawian Orphan Sponsored Education Scheme founded by Dave, H and Sam .
